Blackberry Juice

The blackberry juice tasted really good. It was more purple instead of black. The seeds kept getting stuck in your teeth.

Mango Juice

The mango juice tasted OK. It wasn't my favorite, but not my least favorite either.

El Mercado (the market)

Today after taking a short break, I went to a Mercado down the street. At the Mercado there was all sorts of different things to buy. Necklaces, purses, hammoks, stuffed animals and painted feathers are just a few. After walking for a while, my little brother Sam saw a painted flute-an ocarina-that was shaped like a bird. He was entranced by it and promptly used the six dollars he had brought to buy a souvenir on it. I decided that I loved a pen that had a gecko curling around it and I spent two dollars on it.

Whew! We're here!

Costa Rica Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today is my first day here. We got to our hotel in the afternoon. You would not believe the amount of buses I saw in the short drive from the San Jose airport to a little hotel. And even more than that were the people that we saw walking. San Jose is populated with about two million people.

Messed Up Malaria Medicine

A tip for everyone: Never go somewhere that makes you take malaria medicine. Malaria medicine tastes disgusting. You will not know what disgusting tastes like until you have had malaria preventing medicine. Grownups are lucky. They don't have to take it in liquidized form. After I took the malaria medicine, the taste stuck in my mouth. I was smart and I took it before supper so the other tastes diluted the malaria medicine. Before supper I was walking around with my tongue sticking out and breathing through my mouth.
